What qualifies a design project for the World of Color Awards™ – Inspired by Vanceva®?
The Solutia World of Color Awards™ was born to honor architects and interior designers whose use of laminated colored glass, made with Vanceva interlayers, was deemed the best among entrants with special consideration for the following criteria:
- 1. Creative use of laminated color glass
- 2. Relation to new and developing applications of laminated glass
- 3. Overall aesthetics of project
- 4. Degree of attention paid to laminated glass benefits
Who can enter a project into the competition?
Architects, interior designers, glass laminators and fabricators, Solutia employees and associates are eligible to enter projects into the competition. The contest is open to individuals and companies from around the world that have used Vanceva interlayers for laminated glass in their project designs. Interior design and architectural projects must have been completed between January 1, 2008 and December 31, 2011 to be considered for this contest.
Does it cost anything to enter?
No, the contest is free to enter.
How many projects can I enter?
You may enter as many projects as you like from several countries. The only stipulation is that the project must have been completed between January 1, 2008 and December 31, 2011 to be considered for this contest.
When is the deadline for entries?
Entry Deadline – Submissions will close on March 16, 2012 at 11:59 p.m. CST
If I’ve entered an architectural design project in a past Solutia Design Awards competition, can I enter it again?
Yes. However, past winning projects or honorable mentions from previous Solutia competitions are not eligible for consideration.
How are the winners announced for the World of Color Awards™ – Inspired by Vanceva?
A global news release will be issued on May 1, 2012 announcing the winners of the competition at China Glass 2012 in Shanghai, China. The winning designs will be featured at Glasstec 2012, the world’s largest glass event, located in Dusseldorf, Germany. Winners will also be featured on the contest website and published in the annual Vanceva Dream Book distributed around the world.

How can I create custom colors with the Vanceva color interlayer system for laminated glass?
One-to-four sheets of Vanceva color interlayer is typically used to construct custom colored laminated glass. Since the maximum number of interlayers is four, each Vanceva color has been assigned a four-digit number code.
